There's a Hole in the Internet

I fell through it & landed in a world of palm trees & sunshine. It was fun. I think I'll go back there very soon.

The Alchemist

Woo Hoo!! John Paras of Medusa Tattoo NYC put this beautiful piece of art on my arm last night. It's the alchemical symbol for lead I've been planning to get for a few months now. I love it! Thank you, John!

Thanks also to Michele for enticing me away from Camp Freddy Radio last night & convincing me to go to Manhattan to wander for several hours instead. We had so much fun! Aside from the tattoo, we got into a parking space standoff, took a bunch of photos, reminisced of kidnappings, public peeing & other shenanigans. I even pulled out a murder story I had never told her before (it wasn't me, I swear!), when my memory was jogged by a scary man preaching at the corner of Tompkins Square Park. Was tres excited to see NIN posters plastered about town and a Joe Strummer mural painted on the outside wall of the old Wah Wah Hut. I'm going to miss that City. Suppose I can always come back for a visit though.

Looks great; props to John P. as usual. So listen; Raffertys calling on Thursday and I'm eating everything. You won't get the Car(go) until the wedding, then. Miss ya already, you Caxtress.

Downtime

The past few days have been pretty hectic as far as making phone calls & running errands to prepare for the move, so tonight I took a little bit of time to decompress. Took some photos of the sun setting near South Middlebush Road. Pretty sky. Went grocery shopping with Penny & bought really sinful yummy things to eat (General Tso's Chicken and New York Super Fudge Chunk, baby!) & then went to Blockbuster & rented The Village. Wow! I was expecting (hoping) to be scared by it, but it was nothing like what I expected. The cinematography was STUNNING! What a gorgeous-looking film. Countless frames would hold their own as still photos on a gallery wall. The scene of Lucien & Ivy sitting on the porch would make a great painting. Now you've got to see the movie to figure out the reference. HA! The characters were likeable & the story interesting enough to ponder long after the credits stopped rolling. I'd like to see it again.

OMG, It's the Hotel 17, Hollywood Style

Yes, I'm scamming my post tonight directly from Craig's List. I swear, this has to be the L.A. equivalent to the old Hotel 17 where I lived in NYC. I'm nostalgic, but not that nostalgic. I'd like my tv & internet in my own room, thank you. And my kitty & car come with me. Funny ad, though...

$650 - Historic Hollywood bldg. now renting- Creative types encouraged!

The Gershwin Hollywood at 5533 Hollywood Blvd (at Western Ave) is now renting BACHELOR apartments for $650 a month with a $750 deposit to move in. All utilities paid. Month to month lease. We have a laundry room, TV room, vending machines, internet in lobby and are conveniently located half a block from Ralphs, Starbucks, Blockbuster, major buslines and across the street from the underground. We also have a cool new bar and art gallery next door as well. Artists and musicians encouraged to apply! Anyone Looking for an Art Model?

Yeah, I know. Posting them here won't do me much good. I don't think anyone reads this thing. Oh well. Maybe I'll get brave & post them somewhere else. I took these Saturday & I really like them.
